Seriously, dear, time to upgrade. I know your computer technically still works, but nowadays they come powered by electricity instead of a hamster wheel. It is sooo much more useful and less prone to starvation when pressed into server duty.

So my friend is a computer technician… I had some major problems after my roommate’s new kitten used the keyboard as a litter box. I dropped it off and asked him if he could look at it for me. Pretty soon afterwards I get an e-mail with the subject "Laptop Fixed". I open the attachment, and this is what I see.

This picture was taken at the Wizard World Comic Book convention. So what is Sarah looking at on her laptop? Online comics of course!

The small, black is a over-sized netbook or undersized laptop — my new MSI L2300-038

But also note the big, boxy backup drive — 3.5" HD + WITH EXTERNAL PS
Now it is a small 2.5" HD in an USB accessory (no power supply needed) — and 5x capacity. At the same price or less.

I had toted the A1+Lucky to work… and muttered my inclination to take it to lunch… Sara (who had stopped by at just the right time) encouraged me to just be me & just do it.

So, I found myself, in the caf of the hospital I work in… with a fully manual film camera, kneeled on my chair, aiming down at my table/pink-lunchbox… just glad it wasn’t TurkeyDinner day!

In the t-shirt laptop case shown in MAKE #06, on page 27, it looks like the laptop fits in long way round–but the way I made it, the dimensions work better this way….

I haven’t had time to really test and mess with this app, but I was
surprised there wasn’t the ability to purchase books directly thru the
app. You have to go to an Amazon Kindle website to get books, etc.

How long until Apple puts this content in the iTunes store?

Cheap Makeshift MBP Laptop Stand 2

I use my system mostly as a graphics workstation and I noticed it was generating quite a bit of heat, so, after noticing the Belkin Laptop Cooler at Costco for .99, I grabbed it and added it to my stand. This provided just the right amount of extra height and a little more angle along with the obvious cooling benefits.
