Depends on what game. COD4 I get around 35-50.
and the games im talking about is the newer ones with high graphs
it depends on how high u put the battery settings. the only time fan go crazy is when u “block” the fans and make it overheat… lol its my fault anyways.. cuz i placed it on my bed… which im not suppose to cuz bed coulda catch fire
… it run games kinda good but if u put to the max resolution it would go about 20 fps

I have the hdx 16t. The screen and keyboard hit and you get mark on the screen and keyboard see my video here on you tube.
Great performance, great looking! I bought it a month ago and it is a very good laptop. Nevertheless, you can see all the parts through the chrome panel which isn’t that great. I was very surprised with the quality of the finition (not a scratch), but the laptop itself seems fragile. The parts are not very well attached together (particularly the disc), and my spacebar lifts on the right corner. But except those little defects, the performance are great to do gaming and it has an awesome look.
one thing that worries me is that i heard these laptops are awesoem but they have glitchy touch buttons, like sometimes the woreless disables and enables itself, and that would be annoying
i have this 16 inch, its really good and easy to use
Does every HP HDX 16″ got full HD? Cause its 2 types of Graphic cards that comes with this computers. If Anybody knows if all 16″ Comes with this, please tell me
?
I’m going to get the hdx 16 3000/3500 after christmas. These computers looks sooo gorgeus!! and they have a big gpu to!
if your just playing counter stike 1.6 it will perform beyond what you might think and no its a very silent laptop and the fan does not go nuts
HP HDX 16 1300eo
Is it a good laptop? Im not gonna play nothing else than Counter Strike 1.6 and does it overheat or something like that, does the fan go nuts? You know, I want a quiet laptop, so I would epreciate an answer
peterinfamilyguy
Snipza, I don’t know why people are giving you a thumb down because you are right.
16:9 is just the aspect ratio and doesn’t autimatically make it “full HD”.
HD is determined by this and also the pixels displayed….i.e. 1920×1080 etc…
1080i
1080p
720p
Too bad there is so much misinformation out there..
What about the heating problem? does this heats same like Pavilion models?
but the hdx18t is 1080p high def
this laptop will rock even more with windows 7
4650
how much? UK
512 NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT graphics are better than ATI
16:9 doesn’t necessarily mean their HD.
hey nice video…btw…i have a 64 bit vista on this lappy…i installed gtalk and it hangs when ever i try selecting the current music track as my status. Did any one experience this? Any work around??
its depending on personally experiences to me, for me ATI tends to over heat in desktop PC’s, thats with external fans and all the shin dig cooling, nvidea to me has a better overall performance even if it is half the dedicated memory, i will be buying Nvidea…….
keeping in mind the new HDX18t came out with 9800gt laptop cards that are 1Gig dedicated memory.
Nvidea all the way
dude, you look like shaggy!
uhmmm its kinda obvious, the one with 1GB insted of 512MB
ok how much does this cost?
@xAlexCT get an asus g73, dual 5870s, i7 720 8 gb or ddr3 ram for 1800$
I bet Asus would beat this computers ass.
I need help. Which is the better processor: Intel Core i5-2.26GHz or AMD Phenom 8550 Triple Core 2.2GHz?
9700M GTS
? Fail GPU for Gaming
) At least a 9800M GTS
i want to ask not for this laptop but for the ACER AS5740G-434G64MN:Does it work for gaming laptop like does it play Assassin’s Creed 1 on maximum settings? Specs are Core I5 2.26GHZ 4GB RAM 1 GB VRAM HD5650 15.6 inch
i’m getting this laptop this summer. i dont even have to argue with Mac users, just pull it out of the bag, I dont even have to say anything
was i the only one who laughed at “girth”?
This model only has 1 Fan. I own it have have done a full teardown.
Man i got the Harman kardon but not that one
Mine is called satellite and is black
only got 2 speakers doe -_-
@0xoxol0
Glad I could help
Feel free to ask away if something comes up.
@carsaregood911
Very interesting, especially since I was recently browsing and considering Asus too. Of course I have known for years that Asus is among the very top mobo manufacturers, but as for laptop your information sure helps me drop including the consideration of acer and entirely decide between Toshiba and Asus.
I’m reading that article right now, thanks again
@0xoxol0
I got all my information about reliable or unreliable laptops from this article on cnet. Since I can’t post URL’s on YT, the article says that one in every 3 laptops are bound to fail.
“Asus and Toshiba laptops have the lowest failure rates, while Acer, Gateway, and HP have higher than average failure rates. Additionally, two-thirds of those problems are hardware malfunctions, while the final third are classified as accidental damage.”
@carsaregood911
Hmm good to hear that, since my P2.4 pentium desktop crawls slower than a turtle moves on anything over 480p.
Regarding HP failures; do you mean they “break” ?
So Toshiba are among the best it seems ? what few other manufacturers are recommended besides Sony (far too expensive, but slick design, what a shame) ?
@0xoxol0
LOL it’s ok, well for your HD questions. Even machines with dedicated Intel HD graphics can play HD videos well, so mine definitely plays 720p perfectly on YT and it should also play with HD DVD’s as well and I’m 100% sure it’ll play 1080p perfectly as well as my GPU is more than capable. So again, most laptops on the market today can play HD videos normally.
BTW, I was considering HP laptops as well but idk if u know but they have the highest failure rates of all windows laptops.
@carsaregood911
Oh and I’m sneaking at HP Pavilion DV-6+ series also ´_`
@carsaregood911
Say, I’m guessing you’ve watched quite some videos (movies etc..) on yours. I’d like to know how it performs when you play HD material, both hardware accelerated in native video-/media apps and in the browser (flash). I’d like to know info both for 720p and 1080p.
Sorry for so many questions, but I’m always very nervous about buying things
@carsaregood911
Well if I decide soon enough then I’ll surely remember to inform you. Just to let you know I’m pending between Toshiba and Acer, and also between medium range and higher performance: I like to keep using the machine for a few years without it feeling too slow (I don’t mind playing a few games, even though I don’t play much), yet I don’t wan’t to pay *too much*.
@0xoxol0
Sure thing, make sure you tell me which one you go for. I seem to know quite a bit about good specifications
@carsaregood911
That it’s quiet in normal usage sounds good. Now I need to browse and browse the net until I settle on one model.
Thanks again for the replies man, and good luck
@0xoxol0 Actually I haven’t done any gaming as of yet so I can’t tell you what that’s like but while doing other things its completely quiet, you can only hear it if you put your ear close to the fan itself.
@0xoxol0 Oh sorry, what I meant was is that I have very good desktop speakers so I just plug that into my laptop and use that. Actually the Harmon/Kardon speakers are THE best speakers you can get for any laptop. But the built in ones are fine I guess, as you should know, laptop speakers aren’t very good in general but they get the job done fine.
@carsaregood911
I see. But what did you find pointless with the speakers, do you use external or are the built in good enough ?
Also, how’s the fan’s noise level, quiet enough I would assume ?
Thanks for the replies btw.
@0xoxol0 Hope that helped, again I over exaggerated quite a bit but I was just making a point that how far laptops have come in just a year.
@0xoxol0
Well I may have over exaggerated a little bit. My Toshiba Satellite L505-10X has a 2.1GHz processor whereas this is MUCH better. My laptop comes with a 400GB HDD but I installed a 500GB instead. Also my GPU is better than GeForce 9700M GT but it’s just a bit worse than the 9700M GTS. In terms or ports, this thing monsters mine. Also the speakers, mine don’t have the Harmon Kardon since I found them pointless.
